A Japan Waguri delegation!
/In recent months, Shunkado has discovered the importance of chestnut cultivation in Corsica, thanks to numerous exchanges with Laure de Crépy and Vannina Bernard-Leoni, both passionate about intercultural exchanges and chestnuts, and involved in the Ubiquità association between Japan and Corsica. Curious about this other island chestnut culture, Shunkado, through the "Waguri Council", decided to honor Corsica and its chestnut flour at the Osaka World Expo: on July 5 and 6, 2025, the Japan Pavilion hosted a particularly singular tea ceremony during which cookies made from PDO Corsican chestnut flour were offered to numerous personalities from Japan's economic, scientific, spiritual and political worlds.
A delegation of 10 members of the Waguri Council will be visiting Corsica from September 27 to October 4 to discover our beech-growing ecosystem, guided by the Custodi di u Castagnetu. Evviva!
