Castagnu lumber exhibition

To give our chestnut trees a future, perhaps we need to start by looking at them again - to see and consider them?

This is the aim of the exhibition " Castagnu: timber " to be presented at the Corte University Library from September 5 to October 5 The aim is to allow us to marvel at their harmonious or chaotic beauty, and to inspire us to care for them in a new domestic pact. 

To guide our gaze, we have chosen to present a diversity of artistic representations of Corsican chestnut trees, portrayed by some twenty artists with varied practices and backgrounds.

Painters, sculptors, engravers, draughtsmen, illustrators, graphic artists, designers, documentary filmmakers, digital artists... They've all made chestnut their work of art. They all remind us of the tree's unique place in our imagination and culture.

The vernissage is at 5pm on September 23rd, at Corte, Bibliothèque Universitaire! A truvà ci!
