With Aragonita, we've come up with a small range of objects to brighten up your home with sexy, luscious chestnuts!
Mathilde Ménager first imagined the mirrors and soliflores, then designed them on the computer and finally machined them on the digital milling machine at the Fab Lab in Corte... before returning to her workshop because all the finishing touches are handmade !
Mathilde's dual training as a product designer and craftswoman makes it so easy for her to combine manual and digital production. With her, software and traditional tools can be combined to create objects full of poetry and delicacy.
For the mirrors, the idea was to keep the chestnut in its bug, as protective as it is graphic!
For the first prototype, designed and created in Corte by Mathilde, we chose a golden mirror, like the end of a summer's day, but we could make a silver or powder pink version to suit your favourite season!
And as Mathilde makes very small batches, we could also change the format, for a more or less chubby, bristly chestnut!

"U pullone" in Corsican means the young chestnut tree, the one that is still graceful and moved by the wind! Just like this subtle, poetic mobile, which we imagined with three minds and six hands. Because this time, Castagnina has opted for a double collaboration, bringing together the metal expertise of Aragonita and the textile expertise of Atelier Petites formes.
